Simon Rigby MBE – Co-Founder and Former Chairman
Simon was a formidable businessman and true entrepreneur, co-founding LGE in 2011.
A proud Lancastrian, Simon came from a dairy farming family and graduated from Hull University in 1983. He then joined the then Yorkshire Electricity Board, with whom he qualified as a Certified Accountant in 1987. In 1996, Simon led the management buyout of the buildings and grounds maintenance services from Yorkshire Electricity to form Spice plc. Simon built Spice up from 12 employees and £3m contract to 4,500 staff and a turnover of £400m. Spice floated on the London Stock Exchange in 2004. Simon was Chief Executive Officer of Spice plc from its formation until 2010. In 2011, Simon became one of LGE’s founding directors and his passion, vision and expertise gave us the foundations to grow into the innovative, forward-thinking consultancy that what we are today.
Simon very sadly passed away in 2020 but his legacy lives on through all the work we do here at LGE.
Asif Rizvi – Managing Director
Asif has an academic background in Environmental Management & Engineering. He began his career in Environmental Research in the Higher Education Sector, where he was involved in environmental awareness raising and sustainability research. In 2004, Asif moved into the Environmental Consultancy sector as a National Account Manager, managing core business in the rail sector.
Asif joined a large energy consultancy in 2007 and specialised in utility consultancy and energy procurement solutions. Here, Asif contributed significantly to business development and growth. Asif was appointed Managing Director of LGE upon its inception in 2011 – he has responsibility for the P&L and general management of LGE and today leads a team of over 50 staff.
Tom Flack – Chief Financial Officer
Tom is an ACMA and CGMA qualified professional accountant and has spent a career in finance spanning nearly two decades. Tom started his career with a national housing association and a market leading distribution company where he held senior positions.
Tom joined the Rigby Organisation in 2011 and has overall responsibility for all financial aspects of the wider organisation, as well as at LGE. Working as an integral part of the team, Tom plays an important role in strategically growing LGE.
Victoria Rigby – Director
Victoria comes from a diverse business-oriented background. Having been awarded an Honours degree in Management from the University of Nottingham, Victoria has spent the last few years gaining experience across industry. This includes hospitality, child care and energy, giving her a broad range of knowledge, insight and expertise.
In 2020, Victoria became CEO of The Rigby Organisation and is now a valued member of LGE’s board.
Chris Lee – Non – Executive Chair
Chris has been associated with energy procurement for 35 years. As well as holding key industry relationships within the supply side of the industry, he has operated as a Managing Director for some of the largest industry names, being a prime mover in the energy world and introducing many of the current procurement methodologies that are helping to shape the industry into the form we see today.
Within our parent company Greengen Group, Chris is responsible for the introduction of emerging technologies and translating those into business opportunities on behalf of our customers. The good fit that exists between renewable generation technologies and the needs of businesses to source reliable energy supplies at affordable prices helps to provide the ingredients for an innovative solution to our customers.
Justin Rawlinson – Group Finance Officer
Justin joined LGE in 2018 as our Group Finance Director after a long career in industry, bringing with him a breadth of experience and a broad skills base.
He has extensive experience across the Finance function, including Credit Control, Group Accounting, Statutory Accounts, Management Information, Investment Analysis and Financial Modelling. Justin has strong analytical and budgeting experience, creating detailed business plans and forecasting models as well as understanding the need to continually assess performance. Justin is skilful at discussing detailed financial information with a non-finance audience. Justin was a finalist in the 2015 North West Financial Controller of the year competition.
Isa Cole – Director of Innovation & Development
Isa is an experienced Project Manager, having had roles within the financial and public sectors. Isa has over a decade of experience within the energy industry, starting his energy career as a Business Analyst for a well-known supplier, dealing with the payment infrastructure between different suppliers. After several years there, Isa moved to a large energy broker, later being promoted to Strategic Account Manager. His portfolio included NHS trusts, housing associations, retail chains and assorted manufacturing customers – he was personally responsible for the procurement of over £100m worth of energy per annum. Isa joined LGE in 2012 as Head of Operations and now serves as our Director of Innovation and Development.
Dave Loveday- Director of Operations & Trading
David is a tenacious and conscientious Energy Manager with over 20 years proven experience working in both wholesale and retail sectors of the UK electricity, gas and emissions markets. He has worked with several large commercial organisations to optimise their energy procurement strategies whilst mitigating the inherent market risks.
As Director of Operations & Trading, David’s role at LGE is to ensure that client positions are effectively managed, being cognizant of a client’s budgetary aspirations and risk capacity.
Kendal Brown – HR Director
Kendal joined the Rigby Organisation in 2010 and worked in various senior management roles before focussing her attention on HR in 2017. Today, Kendal is studying for her Level 7 CIPD Human Resources Management qualification and serves as LGE’s HR Director.
Kendal is passionate about employee wellbeing and getting the best out of every member of staff. One of Kendal’s key strengths is ensuring that the people strategy always aligns with LGE’s business goals and corporate vision, making her an indispensable addition to the Operations Team.
Raymond Yeng – Head of Consultancy
Raymond started his mechanical and energy engineering career in the Far East building biomass powered plant more than 25 years ago. Since then, he has to held a number of technical and managerial positions in the energy sector before joining LGE in 2014 as our Head of Consultancy, bringing with him a wealth of experience and qualifications. Raymond holds an MBA, is a chartered engineer, Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP), a qualified ESOS lead assessor and membership of both IMechE and EI.
Alex Sparrow – Director of Corporate Sales
Alex has a comprehensive background in sales and marketing across many industry sectors including tourism and music. He was co-owner of ATHLETICO, a music events and record company where he worked internationally on projects for MTV and Armani, amongst others, and was Managing Director of Living Information Guides, a marketing company he ran in association with The British Chambers of Commerce in Spain and Portugal for 5 years.
Alex turned his skills to the energy industry in 2007 where he grew his career within the sector, specialising in risk managed energy procurement solutions. Alex was appointed Director of Corporate Sales at LGE in 2015 and has continually contributed to the growth of the business. He is responsible for the management and mentoring of the sales team along with the development of new strategies and products.
Luisa Fitzpatrick – Head of Commercial Development
Luisa joined LGE in 2015 and brings with her over 20 years of sales experience in diverse industries such as the Civil Service, debt management and advertising. Having turned her attention to energy 15 years ago, Luisa began her energy career specialising in Retrospective Audits, working with framework agreements for public sector bodies such as the NHS, councils and universities.
An experienced Sales Manager, Luisa heads up the Commercial Development Team and her responsibilities include introducing LGE to new clients, identification of new target markets, recruitment and training.
Kate Jones – Bids Manager
Kate is Head of LGE’s Bids and Marketing Department with a background in bids management, marketing and events, having gained experience working for various companies across different sectors. Kate manages the tender response process from start to finish, creating bespoke documents which ensure that customer service requirements are consistently met, whilst working within sometimes very demanding timescales.
Bid Management plays an integral part in LGE’s growth and Kate is excellent at interpreting prospective client needs and responding proactively to queries in a timely and professional manner.
